Taking this beautiful cycling tour, you will ride from Yerevan to North and South of Armenia, along the nicest areas of Lake Sevan, picturesque landscapes and historic wine region of Vayots Dzorr, meeting friendly locals through charming villages.
In case you are tired, remember the vehicle backup is here, otherwise ride straight to your hotel.
Day 1
Short transfer take us out of Yerevan where we start our cycling day. We pedal the route guided with the highest mountain of Armenia (Armenian crown). The end of cycling day is in Gyumri the second largest city of Armenia.
Total cycling distance approximately is 130 km, altitude range 1009m (1118 – 2127m).

Day 2
Today we start from the point we finished riding the previous day. The scenery is spectacular and the valley narrows as magnificent mountains raise high above us. The end of the day is Stepanavan the small town in Lori region.
Total cycling distance approximately is 98 km, altitude range 663m (1371 – 2034m).

Day 3
Our cycling adventure will be continuing to the picturesque gorge of Lori region where you have opportunity to get the nicest shot of your trip. The end of the day is Haghpat village with medieval 10th century Armenian monastery complex (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
Total cycling distance approximately is 52 km, altitude range 766m (670 – 1436m).

Day 4
Leave Haghpat on bikes for the route which bring us through Noyemberyan to Ijevan town one of wine making provinces of Armenia.

Once equipped and fitted with our bikes we start cycling from Ijevan to the spectacular gorge surrounded by the river and mountain range. Finally, our riding through the gorge will bring us to the great view over the blue waters of the high altitude lake Sevan (1900m) surrounded by mountains.

Today we start from the point we finished riding the previous day. Ride along the shore of the Lake enjoying the view and breathe fresh air.

Through the highest pass in Armenia (2400m) short stop at Caravansaray from 13th century (part of Armenian silk road) and along the descent to the base in the one of the villages in Vayots Dzor region.
Total cycling distance approximately is 60 km, altitude range 1140m (1271 – 2411m).

Today we start from the point we finished riding the previous day. Today’s ride takes us through another mountain route in Vayots Dzor region to reach our night’s accommodation.

We start our last day cycling through the picturesque Gnishik gorge to see beauty of Armenia Noravank. Back to main road and stop in local winery for wine tasting.Transfer to Yerevan.

Essential Information
Our cycling holiday starts from Yerevan. Please bear in mind that if you arrive before start date you may have to wait for your room to be made available. If you decide to arrive before start date AdventureArmenia can assist you in booking extra accommodation and will organize a transfer to your hotel for a charge of 20 USD. If you decide to stay in Armenia beyond the last day of the tour we can help you organize extra accommodation and transfers to the airport if needed. Due to high demand for rooms there is a possibility you may be in a different hotel to the start / end hotel of your trip.
There will be rest stops every 15-30 km depending on the terrain; you will have access to your luggage, and the opportunity to have drinks/snacks.

Equipment and bike stuff
Most types of bicycle are suitable for the Armenian tour. Our leaders carry a good tool kit and will help to fix any bike problems. However, we cannot guarantee to be equipped for all repairs, so you must ensure that your bike is in good working order before the tour. If you are not the most mechanically minded we suggest that you get your bike looked at by a professional bike mechanic. In particular, we would suggest looking and adjusting all wheel spokes, greasing all your bearings, checking your brakes/gears cable, tighten all nuts and bolts, check chain, quick release clamps, tires and put in new inner tubes and check wheel rims are not worn. In addition to making sure the bike is well serviced you should ride with as much care and attention as possible.
We would also advise you to bring the following tools: multi-tool, tire levers, pump, 2 spare inner tube, spare spokes of the correct length to fit your wheels – check with a bike shop, brake pads, a few spare links for your chain, if applicable, spares for any unique or high-tech items on your bike, e.g. fluid and bleed kit for hydraulic brakes.
Bike Hires
Spare parts (tubes, tire, chains etc.) are included in the price of the bike rental and will be carried in the support vehicle with a tool kit and track pump. The bikes are equipped with flat pedals. Those who prefer to use spd or clip-in pedals, are welcome to bring these with you, along with your own cycling shoes and cleats. You are also welcome to bring your own saddle. The guide will carry some spares and tools for fixing punctures etc. but we suggest bringing a couple of spare inner tubes, a pump and a puncture repair kit. If you are able to do a simple repair yourself this will avoid the need to wait for assistance should the team or support vehicle be any distance away. Helmets are not included in the bike hire; you will need to bring your own helmet.
First aid
On all our tours the guides carry a medical kit. However you are recommend to bring your own first aid supplies which should include: a broad spectrum anti-biotic, antiseptic cream, throat lozenges, a cold medication, diarrhea treatment, pain killers, plasters, insect repellent and re-hydration salts.
Additional Information
All accommodation will be in hotels or guest-houses. We choose accommodation on the basis of comfort rather than luxury. Our prices are based on sharing a twin room; single rooms are available at extra cost.
Most of the food is provided on the tour, we provide most meals along with snacks and mineral water during cycling days. All transportation and local guides within Armenia are included. International flights are not included in the tour costs.
Spending money depends on your taste for souvenirs, drinks etc. We estimate that 240 USD will be more than enough to cover the 10 day tour. You can expect to pay around 8 USD – 15 USD for a meal in a restaurant.
Tipping is an accepted part of everyday life, and although it is always at your discretion, you will be expected to tip to reward service. $25 for the guide and team at the end of the tour is recommended.

Travelling to Armenia with kids was a bit hard to plan until i found about Adventure Armenia !

I’m always been fascinated with Armenian culture and the rich history it can offer; from Noah’s time up to the horrendous genocide era.
I’ve booked a one day tour with Arpi and Vrezh to Tatev, this included riding the longest cable car in the world(5.7 kilometers), visiting Tatev Monastery, walking across the newly opened 150-meter long rolling bridge to view the cave city.
The view is spectacular on the way to Tatev, the mountain peaks covered in shimmering white snow. The combination of luscious green, chocolate brown and crisp white snow is breathtaking, to top it off was an amazing guide and friend, Vrezh, who made this trip an unforgettable experience. His driving skill is commendable as he knows the winding roads inside out. We were on the road for almost ten hours but felt safe and secure the whole time.
And yes, how can I forget, the local vegetarian cuisine which Vrezh had arranged as I don’t eat meat. Freshly picked vegetables whilst marveling God’s wonderful creation is picturesque which I’ll fondly remember.
The best part of my trip in Armenia is being able to spend time with the elderly at a home for the aged centre. We bought 10 kilos of cookies which they enjoyed immensely. The happiness and tears on their faces whilst appreciating the small gesture melted my heart. Arpi and Vrezh went out of their way to grant my wish and make this happen.
My one day trip arrangement has been extended to a two-day trip due to the kindness and thoughtfulness of Vrezh and Arpi.

This was a well-planned tour, with stops that broke up the long drive to our hotel in Goris. We had plenty of time at each of the stops. Our guide provided us with good information about the sights and helped us to understand current conditions in Armenia. The accommodations for our overnight in Goris were very comfortable, and we had a good night’s rest. We enjoyed the trip to Tatev monastery over the aerial tram with great views. Cycling Armenia
Well this was a really good tour made even better by Vresh, our guide. He was exceedingly helpful in everyday situations but was excellent in taking one of the group (whose rear tandem wheel had broken) to Yerevan to have it rebuilt at the Velodrome. He was also great at chatting with everyone and answering endless querstions. Hakob, our driver was full of help organising the search for the best vodka and setting up a great barbecue in Ijevan plus acting like a sheepdog making sure everyone was present before driving off.
